What This Privacy Policy Covers
- This
policy covers how RPPtv/mimovi treats personal information that
RPPtv/mimovi collects and receives, including information related to your
past use of RPPtv/mimovi products and services. Personal information is
information about you that is personally identifiable like your name,
address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise
publicly available.
- This
policy does not apply to the practices of companies that RPPtv/mimovi does
not own or control, or to people that RPPtv/mimovi does not employ or
manage.
- RPPtv/mimovi
abides by the UK Data Protection Act
Information
Collection and Use
General
- RPPtv/mimovi
collects personal information when you register with RPPtv and mimovi.com
and mimovimusic.com when you use RPPtv/mimovi products or services, when you visit RPPtv/mimovi pages or
the pages of certain RPPtv/mimovi partners. RPPtv/mimovi may combine
information about you that we have with information we obtain from
business partners or other companies.
- When you
register we ask for information such as your name, email address, birth
date, gender, ZIP/post code, occupation, industry, and personal interests.
When you register with RPPtv/mimovi and sign in to our services, you are
not anonymous to us.
- RPPtv/mimovi
automatically receives and records information from your computer and
browser, including your IP address, RPPtv/mimovi cookie information,
software and hardware attributes, and the page you request.
- RPPtv/mimovi
uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the
advertising and content you see, fulfil your requests for products and
services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide
anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.
Children
- Children
under the age of 16 are not eligible to use RPPtv/mimovi and must not
attempt to register with RPPtv/mimovi and/or submit any personal
information to us. RPPtv/mimovi does not knowingly collect personal
information from any person who is under the age of 16 or allow them to
register. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal
data from a person under the age of 16, we will delete this information as
quickly as possible. If you have reason to believe that this has occurred,
please contact us at info@mimovi.com, and we will delete any such
information.
- We
recommend that young people between the ages of 16 and 18 should not send
any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet without
asking their parents or legal guardians for guidance beforehand.
RPPtv/mimovi acknowledges the UK Home Offices Good practice guidance for
the providers of social networking and user interactive services 2008.
Information
Sharing and Disclosure
- RPPtv/mimovi
does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other
people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services
you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following
circumstances:
- We
provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with
RPPtv/mimovi under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use
your personal information to help RPPtv/mimovi communicate with you about
offers from RPPtv/mimovi and our marketing partners. However, these
companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
- We
respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or
exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
- We
believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate,
prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud,
situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any
person, violations of RPPtv/mimovi terms of use, or as otherwise required

transfer information about you if RPPtv/mimovi is acquired by or merged
with another company. In this event, RPPtv/mimovi will notify you before
information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different

- RPPtv/mimovi
may display targeted advertisements based on personal information.
Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people who
interact with, view, or click targeted ads meet the targeting criteria-for
example, women ages 18-24 from a particular geographic area.
- RPPtv/mimovi
does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you
interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or
viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser
will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to
display the ad.
- RPPtv/mimovi
advertisers include financial service providers (such as banks, insurance
agents, stock brokers and mortgage lenders) and non-financial companies
(such as stores, airlines, and software companies).
- RPPtv/mimovi
may work with vendors, partners, advertisers, and other service providers

Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences

- You can
edit your RPPTV/mimovi Account Information, including your marketing
preferences, at any time.
- New
categories of marketing communications might be added to the Marketing
Preferences page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out
of receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or
they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages
they receive.
- We
reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the RPPtv/mimovi
service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the
RPPtv/mimovi Newsletter, that are considered part of your RPPtv/mimovi
account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving
them.
- You can
delete your RPPtv/mimovi account by emailing us at info@mimovi.com. Please email info@mimovi.com to request information
that might possibly remain in our archived records after your account has
been deleted.
Confidentiality
and Security
- We limit
access to personal information about you to employees who we believe
reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide
products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.
- We have
physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal
regulations to protect personal information about you.

Personal Information
- Non-Account
Activity. You can watch videos/media on
RPPtv/mimovi without having a RPPtv/mimovi Account. You can also contact
us about a particular video/media without having a RPPtv/mimovi Account.
- Account-Related
Activity. Certain other activities on
RPPtv/mimovi like uploading videos, music, pictures, audio, creating media
content, posting comments, flagging videos/media, or watching restricted
videos-require you to have a RPPtv/mimovi Account. We ask for some
personal information when you create a RPPtv/mimovi Account, including
your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account
from unauthorized access. A RPPtv/mimovi Account allows you to access many
of our services that require registration.
- Usage
Information. We may record information about
your usage, such as when you use RPPtv/mimovi, the channels, groups, and
favourites you subscribe to, the contacts you communicate with, the videos
you watch, and the frequency and size of data transfers, as well as
information you display or click on in RPPtv/mimovi (including UI
elements, settings, and other information). If you are logged in, we may
associate that information with your account. We may use clear GIFs
(a.k.a. "Web Beacons") in HTML-based emails sent to our users to
track which emails are opened by recipients.
- Content
Uploaded to Site. Any personal information or
media content that you voluntarily disclose online (on discussion boards,
in messages and chat areas, within your playback or profile pages, etc.)
becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others.
Uses
- If you
submit personally identifiable information to us through the RPPtv/mimovi
Sites, we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide
to you the general and personalized features and functionality of the
RPPtv/mimovi Sites, and to process any flagging activity or correspondence
you send to us.
- Your
account name (not your email address) is displayed to other Users when you
upload media or send messages through the RPPtv/mimovi Sites and other
Users can contact you through messages and comments. Any media that you
submit to the RPPtv/mimovi Sites may be redistributed through the internet
and other media channels, and may be viewed by the general public. If you
have enabled Active Sharing, other users may see that you, as identified
by your account name (not your email address), are watching the same
video/media.
- We do not
use your email address or other personally identifiable information to
send commercial or marketing messages without your consent or except as
part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability
to opt-in or opt-out. We may, however, use your email address without
further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as
notifying you of major RPPtv/mimovi Site changes or for customer service
purposes).
- We use
both your personally identifiable information and certain
non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous user usage
data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type, clickstream data, etc.) to
improve the quality and design of the RPPtv/mimovi Sites and to create new
features, promotions, functionality, and services by storing, tracking,
analyzing, and processing user preferences and trends, as well as user
activity and communications.
- We use
cookies, clear gifs, and log file information to: (a) store information so
that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time
you visit the RPPtv/mimovi Sites; (b) provide custom, personalized content
and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns;
(d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, pages
viewed, etc.; and (e) track your entries, submissions, and status in
promotions, sweepstakes, and contests. If you download the RPPtv/mimovi
Uploader, your copy of the of the Uploader includes a unique application
number. The unique application number and information about your installation
of the Uploader (e.g. version number, language) will be sent to
RPPtv/mimovi when the Uploader automatically checks for updates.
Your Choices
- You may,
of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through
the RPPtv/mimovi Sites, in which case you can still view videos/media and
explore the RPPtv/mimovi Sites, but RPPtv/mimovi may not be able to
provide certain services to you. Some advanced RPPtv/mimovi features may,
for authentication purposes, require you to sign up for other RPPtv/mimovi
services. The privacy notices of those services govern the use of your
personal information associated with them.
- You may
update or correct your personal profile information and email preferences
at any time on your user page.
